integrating interventions
Therapeutic interventions vary depending on client needs and a given therapist’s skill set. Multiple interventions might be used throughout just one therapy session, or a client and therapist may choose to devote some of their work regularly to one specific therapeutic type or style.
Typically, therapists choose to specialize in a few select areas, while remaining generally versed in multiple therapeutic styles and interventions. Many times, working with clients inspires a therapist to broaden their therapeutic horizons to incorporate new specialties, styles and/or interventions.
Always feel free to discuss the specifics of your work in these terms; you may be interested in a specific type of therapy, or simply be curious about your therapist’s preferred style.
